The Halo Effect, Filler Magazine Spring Summer Issue Volume 2, Issue 2
For this story, Filler Magazine's Creative Director Ryan Johnson had envisioned a shiny bronzed up gal in glowing white clothing. Trouble was, he didn't really think it through when he booked the stunning Autumn with skin like that of a porcelain doll.
No one but the stylist really got that I was unable to fully bronze our model to the extent that the art director wanted because, lets face it, we see bronzed goddesses in Vogue all the time and we know it's body makeup right?
Indeed, but as fab as Filler is, it does not have the budget or clout Vogue does. Few do and exactly who's gonna tell Anna Wintour that the magazine needs to pay for stained samples? Exactly.
Even with the most advanced stay put makeup, there is ALWAYS some transfer. Never the less, we worked it out and the beautiful result is above.

'Cuts Above', Flare Magazine May 2011
The great hair work here was created by hair guru Justin German of Shagg Salon and shot by one of Canada's top fashion photographers, Chris Nicholls.
Love, love, love the opening hair cut. If I wasn't hidin' so much with my long locks, I'd chop it off to match!;)

This is my second story for Flare Magazine titled 'Prints Charming'. One is chic and urban while the other is fresh and youthful.
In this most recent one, the lovely (and very tall.. 5'11"!) Amanda Laine was photographed by Evaan Kheraj for the May issue.
Editor, Fiona Green
Illustrations, Rachael Meckling
Hair, Justin German, P1M/Shagg Salon
The previous 'Prints Charming' below, was shot for Flare's June 2005 issue by my good friend John van der Schilden in the early stages of Agneieszka Wichniewicz' modeling career.
Hair, also by Justin German and styled by Flare's Fashion Editor, Liz Cabral.
