Get to know Seaminx founders Sunni & Elaine

Read a recent interview with Seaminx founders Sunni & Elaine. Learn about their involvement with the upcoming event Fashioned For Freedom, a fashion show supporting My Refuge House.

First off, can you tell us a little about the agency, Seaminx?
Seaminx, an acronym for Sunni & Elaine Artist Management Inc., opened in January of 2000. We (Sunni and Elaine) have been friends since the early 90s when we met as models at Tanya Blair Agency. When Seaminx opened we were representing Photographers as well as Hair and Makeup Artists and Stylists. We eventually shifted our focus solely on Hair and Makeup and Stylists. In a couple of months we will be celebrating our 15 year anniversary!

How is Seaminx helping out in the upcoming fashion show, and how did they get connected with us?
When one of our Seaminxes Aubrey Closson contacted us about the Fashioned For Freedom show we jumped at the opportunity to help out. We have several of our assistant stylists helping behind the scenes as well as Seaminx Tess Wilcox co-chairing the event with Aubrey.

What does art mean to you and do you believe it can foster social change?
We love all aspects of art. The creative process in our business encompasses all forms of art; painting, literature, music, dance. Seeing it all come together on the runway is tantamount to seeing a play. Through art one can foster social change by visually and aurally bringing a story to life and creating awareness and compassion to social issues that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Favorite inspirational quote?
“If you don’t like something change it. If you can’t change it, change you’re attitude to it.” Maya Angelou

What are you most excited about for the show on October 9?
We are most excited about being in the company of brilliantly talented people who are all joining together to support an important issue.
