Mary Kay Timewise Foundation Launch, New York City

I knew the new Mary Kay foundations were coming but I had no idea I would recieve an invite to the pre-launch in New York city as these are usually reserved for top editors and bloggers.

Like most things Mary Kay, theirs was not a simple paper or e-vite invite. Oh no... my invitation arrived via courier and came in the form of a beautiful black box, tied with a pink satin ribbon and inside, a folder complete with my itinerary (flight and hotel details), a promo book for the Gramercy Park Hotel (!), and a much needed gift of travel sized Mary Kay skin care essentials.

So, on November 9th, after being treated to a lovely lunch at the Maialino in the hotel, we headed up to the presentation room for the unveiling of the new foundations demonstrated by celebrity artist, Luis Casco, a super nice, incredibly talented man.

As Louis gave us the rundown on the new products and shared his great tips and tricks during the model demos, we were able to colour match our skins from several pre-selected shades at our personalized 'make-up stations'. Check out the video smarty pants Michelle Villett of Beauty Editor posted from the event.

Heres the skinny:

The foundation formulations are Timewise Matte and Timewise Luminous and will be available in 23 shades so matching ones skin will be a snap.

Generally, I don't like the feel of foundation on my face so unless I'm presenting at a media event etc., I don't wear it. But testing and wearing is part of my job so I opted for the Luminious and loved it right away. The foundation is light, velvety smooth and a little goes a long way. My skin instantly looked healthy and smooth. Foundation can do this?? Who knew! ;)

The Timewise Foundation will be available in Canada in February along with a new primer, a foundation brush and concealer brush.

Stay tuned for my next Mary Kay post when these great new foundations are launched in Canada.
